In addition to tablets powered by Android (Google’s mobile operating system), the launch of Microsoft Office for iOS (Apple’s mobile operating system) is rumored to include all of Apple’s mobile devices including the iPad, iPhone and iPod.
The full Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) is expected to be released and all signs point to the Fall of 2012, which coincides with the launch of Windows 8 and Office 15, just in time for the holidays.
With millions of small business owners running Microsoft Windows and Office on their desktops and laptops, this should be music to their ears. If you just can’t wait or are looking for an alternative, try an app like OnLive Desktop, which lets you run virtual versions of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint on your iPad or Android tablet.
