Yahoo and Yelp have struck a deal to surface Yelp’s ratings & reviews of local businesses on Yahoo Search. Yelp has over 53 million local reviews on its site and they will all now be available on Yahoo search results when users search for a local business on any device, whether a smartphone, tablet, laptop, or desktop.
Yelp’s rich content includes user reviews, star ratings, business information, and photos from both customers and businesses. About 25% of Yahoo’s search traffic consists of local searches, so the partnership is a win-win-win situation for everyone involved. Yahoo gets more content for its users, Yelp creates more value for its business customers, and local businesses benefit from increased exposure.
