Vine Now Has A Direct Messaging Feature

Messaging is a feature that no network wants to miss on. Vine, the six-second short, looping video sharing network has unveiled its direct messaging feature allowing users to send videos in a private message to friends. Friends can also reply directly with more videos or text, reports TNW.

The direct messaging feature also allows Vine users to send messages to anyone, even if they aren’t on Vine. These videos will end up as an SMS or email instead.

Each direct message counts as a one-to-one conversation, but users can select multiple recipients when sending their Vine Message (VM). However, Vine users can also opt to only receive private messages from added friends or followers.

In addition to VMs, this release introduces colors to customize your profile. Go to Settings to view and select a profile color, which will be visible to other Vine users.

Vine’s DM feature comes after Snapchat and Instagram have already incorporated the feature. But it is only Vine which lets you send messages to users outside of the app.

The update is live on both iOS and Android.
