Google Expands Cloud Platform to Asia Pacific

google-cloud-platform-logoCiting the success of Google Cloud Platform built businesses such as Angry Birds (Rovio) and Snapchat, Google has announced plans to expand its infrastructure to support companies in Asia Pacific. In addition to the platform itself, the website and developer console will be available in Japanese and Traditional Chinese.

Google Cloud Platform is a set of compute, storage and big data products that allow developers to build on top of the same infrastructure and technology that powers Google. The expansion means that local developers across Asia Pacific can now experience better performance and lower latency. Developers around the world will also have access to a broader global network of servers.  –Howard Wu, Head of Asia Pacific Marketing for Google Cloud Platform

For developers interested in learning more about the Google Cloud Platform, Google will be conducting several Google Cloud Platform Global Roadshow events coming up in Tokyo, Taipei, Seoul or Hong Kong.

With its latest expansion, Google hopes to gain traction and continue its assault on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
