Rdio is now available for users in Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, Greece, Croatia, Cyprus, Slovakia And Slovenia, increasing their demographic to 60 countries over the course of 4 years.
Earlier this year, Rdio also launched their Artists for Quality initiative in an effort to provide higher-quality music formats for their listeners.
A strong competitor with Spotify (available in 56 countries) and Pandora (only available in three countries), Rdio was originally only available in the US and Canada.
Created by the founders of Skype, Rdio offers ad-free music streaming on a competitive level with Pandora and Spotify, leading in demographic availability.
The music service originally had to compete with other services, such as Napster and Limewire, but managed to set themselves apart by offering tailored recommendations based off of user history and preferences, similar to how Pandora and Spotify have maintained their relevance.
